AI Progress Names Top Copyright Lawyer as Advisor
Anna Chauvet will leverage extensive experience in AI and U.S. copyright law to support coalition’s mission

(February 4, 2025) – AI Progress has appointed Anna Chauvet, a partner and leader of the copyright practice at Finnegan, a leading intellectual property law firm, to serve as an advisor. Chauvet’s extensive expertise in copyright law and policy will help guide the coalition through the evolving political landscape and the rapidly advancing field of artificial intelligence.

Chauvet is a recognized authority on copyright law, with extensive experience in litigation, licensing, enforcement, and strategic policy. She specializes in the intersection of artificial intelligence and copyright, advising clients on AI model development and the use of AI in creative works. She has also testified before the U.S. Copyright Office on AI-related issues.
Chauvet’s prior roles include associate general counsel at the U.S. Copyright Office, where she played a key role implementing the Music Modernization Act and advising the U.S. Department of Justice on cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and district courts involving copyright issues. She also served as vice president of public policy at the National Association of Broadcasters, shaping policies on AI, music licensing, privacy, and antitrust.
